Notes: See below for TT aero rules. Please do not warm up on course. MT-271 north towards Helmville is a good low-traffic option. Ride with care; all roads are open to traffic.
Stage 1 Details
The Roadeo kicks off just east of the bustling metropolis of Drummond, Montana on Friday, July 11 with a classic super fast and flat, out-and-back time trial over 10.6 miles with only 166 feet of climbing. With the prevailing and strong west wind in the Bearmouth and Drummond area, pacing will be a challenge! The Gold Rush Time Trial will serve as the 2025 Montana State Time Trial Championships.
The TT will be run on Friday July 11 afternoon/evening in an effort to allow out-of-state competitors travel time. We will have set start times (final start times will be posted the morning of Friday, July 11). First rider off at 3:30pm. If racers anticipate needing a start time after 5pm, they should contact the race director well in advance.
> > > Aero rules: Aero helmets and clothing are permitted for all categories with no penalty. Full aero equipment is permitted for all categories including TT bikes, disc wheels, and aero extensions HOWEVER all racers in category 3 and below, masters racers, and junior racers will be assessed a 60-second time penalty if riding anything other than a mass-start-legal road bicycle and equipment (including but not limited to TT bikes, disc/tri-spoke wheels, and aero extensions).
